The Jewish Chronicle

Firstly I am going to look at the Jewish Chronicle to get an idea of the types of stories they publish. This is the UK's oldest Jewish newspaper which means they have a large audience so the stories the newspaper contains must appeal to people living within a jewish community.

Story 1- Matchday 13 Weekend Review

This news story is purely aimed at the community. It focuses only on the people within the community, who are not elite, that readers may even know themselves. This story is likely to appeal to people within a Jewish community as it is directly relatable to them.

Story 2- Hendon Home to Close

Again this story focuses on community (Familiarity seems to be a recurring news value in terms of community news). The fact that the story revolves around a small local care home shows how community-focused this publication is. When I create my radio show I will aim to make all my news stories community news.

Story 3- Gateshead VS Limmud

This story focuses more on conflict than the previous two. It also contains elite people. However, despite this fact it is still community news.
