Anti Semitic attack- a shop in Golders green has been defaced, this will appeal to my target audience because it is community news, and this was the most popular answer in my questionnaire, it is also predictable and part of a trend of Anti Semitic attacks that many people witness daily. It has many news values as it has a large sense of familiarity, conflict and personalisation. This news bulletin would be a negative scandal. It is also a good opportunity to show my understanding of news techniques for example sound bites from the shopkeeper or witnesses. I will make this story breaking news.
Anti Semitism in Football- I got this inspiration from a recent campaign started by a comedian. The main question of this bulletin was should Jewish people use the word "Yid" in terms of Spurs or does that encourage racism. This story contains elite people, particularly Jewish people which I think would appeal to my target audience. The news values of this story are, the fact that it is a scandal, it contains and concerns a lot of people (amplitude) and it has conflict. With this story I could use guests and experts, Voxpops or outside broadcasts.
Mitzvah day- this story is lighthearted and positive compared to the others which I think will appear to my target audience and also show the wide variety of my radio station. This story can involve lots of people and it is something that happens every year. This is a great opportunity to use Voxpops to get people involved.
New Jewish Community Centre- there is a new Jewish community centre opening on the Finchley road which is said to be the biggest in the world. I thought that perhaps I could use a correspondent to perhaps attend the opening. This will appeal to my audience especially after hearing about the anti Semitism in the world to know there is a safe place they can go to be amongst people in their community. This story contains familiarity, amplitude, impact (in a positive way) and continuity as it was news when it was established the centre way being built.
