Representation and News Techniques

Station and bulletin
Ways of reporting illustrating and elaborating
Representation
Radio 4- World at 1- rising unemployment levels especially in youth
1. Sound bites from David Cameron and Ed Miliband
2. Chief political correspondent
3. Special guests Chloe smith (economic secretary) and Rachel Reeves (shadow reef secretary to the treasury)
The presenter of this bulletin was a middle aged woman; she spoke very clearly and formally delivering the news. There was no casual conversation however when the special guests had a small dispute she was quick to resolve it professionally
Radio 1- News beat- suggestions to cut down road accidents
1. Outside broadcast from a driving test center in north London
2. Sound bites from people about to take tests
3. Voxpops asking how people would feel having to take their tests again
The presenter of this bulletin was a younger man, the presenter doing the broadcast also sounded younger. They both delivered their story clearly, like the previous bulletin this was still formal however the delivery seemed more welcoming and friendly. There was no banter.
